WHAT is Kamp Kappa?
Kamp Kappa is the cornerstone initiative of AF KSEF’s Guide Right Program. It is designed to serve as a positive outdoor and educational experience. Since its inception in 1993, Kamp Kappa has provided activities that foster the spirit of team building, self-respect, and respect for others. A six-day, overnight youth summer camp program managed by the Alexandria-Fairfax (Virginia) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
WHO
Our program is designed for males between the ages of 10 and 16 years of age from the metropolitan Washington, DC, area, to include the District of Columbia and the neighboring counties of Virginia and Maryland.
oUR PROGRAMS
As a fraternity-wide community service outreach initiative, this program is designed to foster cooperation, team building, and self-respect. In addition we aim to provide a positive outdoor educational and recreational experience through certified professional counselors and fraternity/community volunteers.
Camp Activites
Activities include swimming, archery, team sports, games, hiking, canoeing, fishing, amusement parks, educational seminars, group discussions (hygiene, finances, crime prevention, drug awareness), confidence and leadership building activities, site visits intended to increase social and civic awareness. The camp also includes “Street Law” educational program led by U.S. District Court Judge Gerald B. Lee.
CAMP LOCATION
Camp William B. Snyder (“Cubworld”), 6100 Antioch Road, Haymarket, VA, 20169; (571) 248-4904. The camp is located approximately 40-50 miles from downtown Washington, DC; Landover, MD, or Alexandria, VA., (1.2 hours). Drop-off and pick-up will be at Chantilly High School, 4201 Stringfellow Road, Chantilly, VA 20151;
Kamp Dates
Duration: July 10-15, 2022. Drop-off will be at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2022; pick-up will be 12:00 noon, on Friday, July 15, 2022.
